Co-chair of Right Now Israel, Elliot Vaisrub Glassenberg, wrote a powerful piece about the closing of Holot in the Times of Israel:
"Will Israel continue with its plans to deport or imprison tens of thousands of people who have come to us for shelter? Or will Israelis finally stand up to this cruelty and say: enough, not in our name."

After the release of a High Court of Justice petition, which spoke against the Israeli government's plan to deport asylum seekers, Israel says it will temporarily freeze deportations. However, "administrative procedures in preparation for the deportations...will continue." High Court judges are expected to decide within the next coming days whether to order for a halt of the entire government plan. Israel seeks to begin the deportation plan of tens of thousands of asylum seekers on April 1st.
